Using drones in agriculture is an effective, affordable, and actionable method of helping farmers reduce input costs by providing them with accurate data that enables them to make fast critical decisions about their farming practices.
In this white paper, we explored several traditional farming methods and highlighted areas where drone technology can be used effectively: crop scouting, disease identification, irrigation control, water allocation, leak detection, fertilizer application, pesticide application, and herbicide application.
We looked in depth at the issue of rising agricultural input costs, the reasons behind it, as well as potential ways to optimize agricultural practices by augmenting traditional workflows with drone technology. We also touched upon some alternatives to drone technology such as satellite services and provided a glance into the agricultural community’s hesitancy in adopting drones.
By releasing this white paper to the public, we hope to offer some alternative solutions for the agricultural community in the face of rising pressures from climate change and inputs cost.
